What will you do

As we continue to grow we want to make improvements to our product, working as part of a small team you will be a key player in developing the next generation of our product and building our product family.

You will be able to help shape and grow our product. You’ll have a direct and real impact on our design, design systems and design language as well as our business as a whole. You will work closely with internal teams, our end users, partners and suppliers to ensure design requirements are met.
We are always striving to make our product better - you will be involved in taking our existing product to the next level, making improvements and ensuring it is the best it can be.

You will use 3D software to produce, analyse (using FEA) and visualise ideas. Design, develop and test new products and components from concept to production. You will create and use prototypes to make educated design decisions. With the ability to communicate directly with suppliers and maintain strong relationships with them. You will be responsible for the creation and maintaining technical documentation, such as but not limited to, technical drawings, BOMs, design/engineering change notes, product design briefs and specifications. You will work to agreed timescales and ensure the delivery of design milestones on time

About you

  • The ability to demonstrate a high level of creativity and innovation displaying a broad skill set across the design spectrum
  • Have proven experience of conceptualising, designing and developing products through to manufacture
  • Have a strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as injection moulding, vacuum casting & metal fabrication
  • Be an expert at translating sketched design concepts into 3D CAD models
  • Experienced 3D CAD user, SolidWorks preferred
  • You will have previous experience with packaging design
  • Have excellent verbal, written and visual communication skills with the ability to make something complicated seem simple
  • A belief in making data-driven, pragmatic and evidence-based product decisions
  • Previous experience working to recognised quality standards (ISO9001/ISO13485) is preferable. Medical standards would be beneficial
  • Previous experience in developing research summaries, sketches, user scenarios and product renderings
  • An understanding of supply chain and the designers role within this
  • A nice to have but not essential a BSC/BEng/BA or equivalent in Industrial Design, Product Design, Design Engineering.
